I Am From My Home
I am from my home,
Filled with water bottles, and
pitchers of iced tea.
I am from old books
Filled with old knowledge.
I am from those pages.
I am from blooming flowers
that cover the dead ones.
I am from gravel roads
and long wire fences,
that keep us away.
I am from pumpkin pie,
and big bowls of ice cream.
I am from sweets like candy and chocolate.
I am from holidays
like Easter, New Year's, and Christmas.
And when I wake up the next morning,
and smell those cookies and milk,
I realize I am from family.
